A friend of mine from the MIT entrepreneurship scene in Cambridge hosts an informal monthly gathering for technology entrepreneuers in Boston. You could probably start a similar gathering on a regular basis in the Bay Area. I’ve included one of his emails below.

Please join me and fellow innovative & entrepreneurial friends for VentureNight at the MIT Muddy Charles pub this coming Monday night, January 24th, between 7 and 10pm. We’ll share rounds of drinks, a bit of dinner,
and informal conversation.
Weather Factor — Neither snow, nor rain, nor gloom of night will stop us from completing our rounds. Wear warm clothes.
Details — We are starting at 7pm, but show up when you can since we’ll be there till at least 10pm. I personally invite people who I know like to work on new technologies, entrepreneurial organizations, or other efforts which maximize human progress.
