Stephen Bryant at Ziff Davis interviewed me briefly for his weekly column at publish.com. Some of this is around the Tello mess earlier this week, which I am going to write about this weekend.

I look forward to that post. I´m really interested to read more of your thoughts about the Tello fiasco. Like I said in the comment section of that particular post..I´m not a betting man, but I would put my money on all those flames coming from one person who is directly involved with that company. The writing style was very similar in the flames. Also, the person took your review very “personal” and that would also seem to indicate a connection to the Tello. Regardsless, the responses were very unprofessional.
But on a different note, I signed up to be a Beta tester of Edgeio. Mike…any idea of when it will be available for beta users?
hi mike,
if you want to write about the tello “fiasco”, which i did not perceive as such, you should back up your claim why blogging is important to non web 2.0 companies.
that should not be too difiicult and there is a nice way to illustrate it with a current example. the top 1 search on technorati is currently “du bist deutschland”. there is a technorati blog post on the matter:
http://www.technorati.com/weblog/2006/01/79.html
the very influential german magazine “der spiegel” took up the matter and published an english translation of their article:
http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/0,1518,397008,00.html
you’ll find more links when you go from there. the “du bist deutschland” campaign is a classical PR campaign and was ridiculed, discussed and evaluated online. the makers did not like the web reaction and reacted to it in a very stupid way. the discussion has reached traditional media by now. that much on the theme of blogs and non blog companies. read up on it and you will have an easy way to back up your claims.
all the best,
moritz
