[...] Rob Hof from BusinessWeek has posted his notes after attending a closed demo of the promising startup Edgeio from Keith Teare and TechCrunch blogger Mike Arrington. The way Edgeio works is that bloggers would post items they want to sell right on their blogs, tagging them with the word “listing” (and eventually other descriptive tags). Then, Edgeio will pluck them as it constantly crawls millions of blogs looking for the “listing” tag and index them on Edgeio.com. [...]

[...] I will use this post to kindly ask Mike Arrington of Edgeio to take note of this microformat and consider supporting it and backing it as another way to index listings beside the Tags, my guess that if it’s implemented and marketed appropriatly, it will make things simpler for some people to get the idea and use it.
[...] From what I read about edgeio (also here and here) this seems to be a wonderful implementation of the edge-content ideas. It seems so exactly because it is built to leverage some common behaviour. [...]

With something like 30%+ of bloggers blogging for professional reasons, wouldn't it make sense to create a metabase for resumes? This would be far more profitable and low risk then trying to clone ebay right out of the gate.

I would think that a metabase of resumes would gain mass adoption FAST, after all a huge percentage of bloggers are blogging to get work.
