Best Way To Be Ignored

Submit a company for review that starts off with:

“_____.com Leads Web 2.0 Revolution with New Unrivalled Revenue-Sharing Social Networking Site

– In one of the most monumental projects ever created for the Internet, _____.com has launched a never-before-seen user-powered news site, positioning the company to achieve success of MySpace and YouTube proportions.”

“…never-before-seen user-powered news site.” Now thats funny. Everything I have been seeing lately, appeared to be more/less a copy of one another, but with some kind of twist. I categorizes all these sites hourly on Dexly, it amazes me how similar most of these products/services are.

What were they thinking? That’s Gold 2.0 - Anyway, my site’s the-best-there-is-2.0, it’s where all the best started. For real.

I like this part ‘In one of the most monumental projects ever created for the Internet’. How can i invest? Did you at least look at the site! It must be mind blowing!

I wonder if you will get even more requests with these two lines now from companies that just want to be clever. Will it work?

By the way, it would funny if you had a “silly pool” of all the dead weights although that would get you a lot of flag. :-)

What?! As Dizzle says, this is a Gold Mine! You should have given them a link as a trade for the giggles all of us are having.

I don’t know whether it was deliberate… but “ingored”. Beautiful!
Gored with something blunt and painful to pay them back for the greatest load of hyperbole I’ve seen in a while (and Web 2.0’s generating enough hyperbole-driven heat to bring tropical weather to Siberia). A load of bollocks, more likely.

Michael, you should have named and shamed.

Classically delusional stuff…

And if you really want to find out who sent this to Mike, search enough of the quoted text above in Google and you immediately get the culprits…

classic way of knowing your company sucks: not hiring a decent copywriter.

eg. google search “Leads Web 2.0 Revolution with New Unrivalled Revenue-Sharing Social Networking Site”

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/44356/DigitalJournal_com_Leads_Web_2_0_Revolution_with_New_Unrivalled_Revenue_Sharing_Social_Networking_Site

I like this. I was looking for a good two-liners intro. We don’t do news though, is that like a problem, or can we use it anyway?

I smell a TC Contest for best delusional, fictional company submission.

Aw come on now guys. It’s not just the PR people that do things like this :) I can hear somebody speak on a plane to New York and know immediately they’re in marketing just by their tone and the lingo they use. Nobody I know says in conversation “I’ll ping you with an email” or “I’ll get back to you when I come up for air” but I swear every marketing person I’ve worked with has this in their standard lingo :)

But go easy on the PR people - this is a sign of either (A) a client who doesn’t realize they need to educate their PR people about their industry (instead being angry that they’re not experts, which happens moreso) or (B), a publicity firm that has so overloaded their staff with accounts, they don’t have time to really learn about and become familiar with the industries their clients are in.

:::deletes the first three sentences from the introductory email:::

You mean web 2.0 isn’t original?

And we’re not breaking ground with our focus on an industry ignored niche that represents a multi-billion dollar sector of the market that leaves HUGE opportunity for growth and profits??

And we’re not pioneering the face of user-driven content based communities on the internet?!

Where’s Sherna?! We need a new idea.
