I think it's probably soothing in a way...much like a confession. Of course, the beauty is that it is (for the most part) confession without consequences.

I think it's beautiful. It's the secrets people hold most dear, and whether they enthrall us or disgust us, we have no right to comment on them...they are just one glimpse at a life...just one secret, big or small.

I think that it's too easy to tell yourself that some of them are fake.

Most of all, it's a form of release. People shouldn't have to live with all the secrets that they do, but as a society we seem to demand it...so this is a way for them to be free of the burden if only for a moment.

I wouldn't post a secret there, because it totally undermines the idea of a secret.

However if I was in a bad situation, it would probably feel easier to let out my secret and let myself loose.

You have to believe that at least 1/2 of the stuff on there is fake, but I always wonder which half. Same thing with Overheard In NY. Getting these anonymous glimpses sure is fun though!

BTW - Michael, you probably saw you were nominated for the 2007 Bloggies (2007.bloggies.com). I don't even know if these are a big deal, but wanted to let you know (I only know because someone told me I was nominated for the Best New category ... cool!).

Keep Smiling,
