New Anti-TechCrunch Site
by Mike on February 5, 2007

Check out Arringtonsucks.com for some good commentary on how much I suck. I just heard about this site today.

I hope this one lasts more than a few weeks. After an initial burst of activity the authors seem to get bored and move on to other things (see ShitCrunch and TechCrush).

If you’re thinking of creating your own anti-techcrunch site, please do. Email me once it’s up and I’ll send you a TechCrunch tshirt.

Hey, I tried to register ILikeMike.Com, I-Like-Mike.com, and even EyeLikeMike.Com, but they were all taken - someone obviously likes Mike! Maybe I get a T-Shirt for trying though?

Rob

Mike, I admire your willingness to point to your detractors. I’m still learning the art.

Reminds me of a gay man who runs a very gay gossip site, who ran a piece about how gay a certain pundit is. Do you think the gay gossip person was trying to come on to the straight pundit? If so, how do you suggest the pundit tell the gossip that he’s not interested?

I must say both ShitCrunch and TechCrunch were better than this one. Right or not, they tried to be critical, sometimes satirical, cynical, you name it … the wanted to be a counterpoint, not a personal attack blog, unlike Arringtonsucks. Picking the name says volumes about the authors….

I didn’t think TechCrush was an “Anti-TechCrunch” blog, rather they were going to review startups six and twelve months after you did and see if the startups was (generally) a success or failure.

Still though, surprising the amount of hate on the web. Rather depressing…

The “hate” stuff is fine when it’s aimed just at me. I can fight back. But sometimes friends get caught up in it as well, and they (1) aren’t used to the attacks and it hits them very hard, and (2) don’t have a loud voice to fight back. That’s why I feel bad about the Orli stuff today on techcrunch with the go2web20 story. She isn’t my girlfriend, just a friend, and the stuff people are saying about her is absolutely horrible.

Free T-shirt, huh? Hmm, sounds good.

I’d like a free TC t-shirt, but I dunno about creating a whole “I hate TechCrunch” site for it… LOL

Dude…. that’s awesome. I totally want a website outlining how I suck!

What about those of us that already don’t worry about facing the wrath of TechCrunch ?? :) LOL

It may not be a specific “I hate TechCrunch” site but I don’t shy awayfrom expressing my feelings regarding TechCrunch - pro or con.

Adding to my comment above: since the authors of this blog are hiding under the pseudonym Bob and Joe, I think it’s fair enough to call their site BobAndJoeSuck.com

Hey I think they’ve sorted out your design issues ;)

Unbelievable how obsessive people can be.

I guess when you’ve reached the level as a blogger where someone would spend their time writing about how bad you are that would mean ‘you’ve arrived,’ right?

And then to have more than one site…oh boy.

I wonder what url the people who dislike New York Giants Linebacker Levar Arrington are going to use?

Well Mike, defamation is the lowest form of flattery! So I guess there’s something to be happy about in this. Don’t people have anything better to do with their time? Obviously those folks don’t. They should just get a life, or buy one if they can’t get one for free.

Well, here’s one post (and site) that you might be interested in taking a look at…

You should ask the question why so many people are creating these sites (Maybe free t-shirts but I doubt it).

I have seen so many posts with negative feedback on Techcrunch. Here is one about Google Hate http://netflask.com/anthony/?p=16

Well, if people hate you, it must be because you’re good at what you do. TechCrunch is one of my favorite sites around right now. If I’m looking to get into something new, I always see if you wrote about it first.

Judging by the fact that of the very very few outgoings links not pointed at one of Mike’s sites is pointed at 901am.com, and the overall tone/style of arringtonsucks, its pretty obvious who’s behind this, just gotta wonder why its anonymous.
