See this is what I hate about the podcast/videopodcast medium so far. I clicked on your link thinking, “hey, I’ll give it a shot”, and I’m about four minutes in now and *nothing*. Nothing but a long, rambling intro, some long sponsorship mentions, other long stuff that isn’t content, and now I’m going to shut it off.
This is not a referendum against Jason as 90% of the shows I check out start off in the same verbose way. The industry needs to solve this for its own benefit. There should be a formula. Something like “5-10 second intro, 20 second sponsorship mention, and then directly into the show.”
I don’t even care if the show is interrupted 15 minutes in for another ad or sponsor mention, but man, that first few minutes is really key. Neglect its importance and you lose a ton of people.
Yeah, Jason’s intros aren’t as bad as the old Gilmor Gang ones but a bit long anyway. I start talking about 20-minutes in, and it gets really boring there for a while

Oh god, don’t even get me started on the Gillsnore Gang.
For all the smart guests who appeared on that show, it was a shame the whole thing was conducted like an sleepy, agendaless conference call. I think I actually remember one episode where Mike A. had to be summoned repeatedly before he answered because Steve had been prattling on for 20 minutes about nothing in particular.
For as controversial as Jason is, I do think he’s a perfect candidate to make something like this work though. High energy, willingless to cut people off and keep them on-topic, and the brains to finally put some sort of reasonable format on this genre.
I will agree with Mark on this one, I just wanted to have a quick sneak at the video before watching it tonight. For the first few minutes I wasnt really able to get anything informative.
I shall watch it tonight and have a much deeper opinion on wheter he produces a good content or not.
would be nice to see some more video content on TC at least upgrade from the wordpress processor!
