You know, even if it *were* a "thank you" to Apple for getting an iPhone early (which it wasn't -- i mean, jesus, is that really so great a thing?), it *still* isn't selling out, pandering, hypocritically squandering your credibility for a few shekels, and, well, shamelessly bending over and grabbing your ankles for advertisers, which is precisely and incontrovertibly what you did.

Pogue has always done things like this. He has a background in musical theater, and he has a bunch of these up on his Web site. He performs his songs when he speaks and on geek cruises.

David Pogue is a joke, and not a funny one at that. He's an idiot. The whole NY Times facility should just get down on their knees and blow Apple and Democrats because they aren't fooling anyone by their "unbiased" front.

"Ben - you mean the way microsoft paid me for ads on my site, as opposed to the NYT making a fucking music video to say thank you for getting an iPhone early? Riiiiight."

This is not jealousy on your part and that of the blogosphere because you didn't get iPhones early and some in traditional media did? I think it is.

Wow. I couldn't watch the whole thing. It was painful. David's always been a cool cat the times I've had to deal with him, but this is kind of dorky for a big paper like that. Is that him in the video? Oy.

Does he take a shot at bloggers in this? Like I said, i couldn't watch the whole thing....

Oh good lord. This video is hugely funny and clever. It doesn't really promote iPhones, as much as it covers the hooplah over the initial release. To see it as anything else, well, signals to me a loss of perspective.
